3rd Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor: Rafael Paras
Hi, my name is Rafael Paras and I am 15 years old. I started taekwondo when I was 5 years old in 2011. Competing against others is my favorite part about TKD. Joining national and regional competitions is fun because you can see what it takes to become the best while also meeting new people from other areas. Competing within class can help you improve, too. I also like the students and instructors of the school, who help you become better at what you do. It is a great way to exercise and let off any built-up stress. As an instructor I like to push students to do their very best. It is fine if you stay in your comfort zone, but it is more rewarding to exit that zone and try something more challenging. The facility is very large, which allows every student to be doing something throughout the entire duration of class. Not only do you learn about Taekwondo and exercise, you will create life-long friendships with people you would not have met in any other circumstance. Class is a judgment-free space. We will not judge you for what you can or cannot do. We will give constructive criticism because we want to see you succeed.
Awesome place, our whole family participates! Good exercise and good fun for everyone!
It is such in amazing place to go learn and make friends. I have grown so much in my 4 years doing it.
Can't say enough great things about this school! The instructors are top notch! Mr. Abbott gets to know his students and makes sure each student receives individualized instruction when needed. He never lets students "slide" and encourages them to strive for excellence. There are multiple classes each week to choose from so kids involved in other sports, clubs or activities can still pursue those interests as well as learn Taekwondo.
